White Crowns from Dr. McKone will Give You a Reason to Show Off Your Smile
A tooth with structural damage, like a large cavity, crack, or chip, may need a dental crown to regain strength, beauty, and comfortable function. Dr. McKone prefers to place white crowns made from dental porcelain that looks like natural tooth enamel. In some cases, Dr. McKone may recommend a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown that will withstand the extreme pressure back teeth experience daily.
If you need a crown, expect two visits with Dr. McKone in our Plymouth dental office. At your first appointment, he will prepare your tooth for the crown, take an impression for our lab, and place a temporary crown to protect your tooth. A trusted dental ceramist in our local lab will create your custom crown to match the surrounding teeth in your mouth. Your second visit will involve removal of your temporary crown and permanently cementing your final crown in place. Dr. McKone will check the fit and your bite before you leave our office. If necessary, he’ll make adjustments to your new crown.
Don’t live with a toothache. A damaged tooth could break at any time, creating a painful and extensive dental problem. Call Dr. McKone’s dental office to schedule your visit today. We are located in Plymouth, so we care for patients from Minneapolis, Wayzata, and Minnetonka.
